On October 15, Samsung launched its new line of SD memory cards. It's about the new Samsung SD PRO Plus Y Samsung SD EVO Plus.



    These are two models of high-performance SD cards and due to their technical specifications, these new Samsung SD cards are intended to meet the needs of professionals and advanced amateurs, both for video recording in 4K resolution UHD as for capturing photos of high resolution with DSLR.


    Professional cut, they have the capacity to resist up to three days submerged in 1 meter of salt water, they withstand high levels of humidity and dust in the environment. They pass the drop test from more than 5 meters high and other blows.

    They withstand extreme temperatures, their operating range goes from -25ºC and 85ºC. Lastly, they resist radiation from X-ray scanners and large magnetic fields.

    As if that were not enough, they have a 10 year warranty.


    Availability and price

    There are 4 models that will go on sale, with 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacity.

    Samsung PRO Plus SD memory cards achieve read and write speeds of up to 100 and 90MB/s respectively, with the exception of the 32 GB model that reaches a speed of 60 MB/s.

    Samsung EVO Plus SD memory cards only refer to read speed, and in this case they reach up to 100 MB/s. Samsung does not report write speed.
